The Ahmad Cobb Story
Ahmad Cobb was just a little kid when he was diagnosed with cancer. While he battled and won the 1st round, Make-A-Wish sent him to Disneyworld in Florida. When cancer came back a little while later, Ahmad put his hands up and started fighting again. While Ahmad himself was a #cancerwarrior he became a nation’s hero for one night.
Ahmad wanted to go to the Charlotte Hornets vs.Golden State Warriors on January 27, 2017! So, we stepped in to help him attend the game and also tied a few loose ends so he could meet his basketball idol Steph Curry! #cancerwarrior #teamahmad #ahmadstrong #keeppounding
Thank you to Stokey Cannady from http://www.ycmc.com/ for pulling everyone together to make Ahmad’s dream come true! Even though he has since passed away, his spirit lives in the hearts and minds of everyone he touched. R.I.P. to the young sir Ahmad Cobb #forever #ahmadstrong
Doreen Katz 4 Annual Memorial Golf Tournament
This event featured professional MMA fighter Chris Camozzi and his brand www.PerformanceMMA.com — associated via the Title Sponsor position. Although Chris is a successful cagefighter in the Octagon, battle tested against some of the world’s toughest opponents, he understood the meaning of family, cancer, community and stepped right up to the challenge!
Dry Dock Brewery and Open Door Brewing, respectfully, were beer sponsors for the 4th Annual Doreen Katz Memorial Golf Tournament located at Arrowhead Golf Course in Littleton, Colorado. Some amazing auction items were donated and SOLD as well as on the course challenges with golf pro Casey Schiel.
We couldn’t have asked for a more fun experience with the torrential downpour moving volunteers and event vendors under the tent or indoors only to see a wedding finish up after the rainstorm. It was an amazing day of golf fundraising to help Colorado families battling cancer be able to afford things like:
- School activities, field trips, after-school activities
- Sports camps, programs
- Arts, Theater, Music needs
- Birthdays, Christmas (any family holiday)
This support comes without discrimination or bias. If you are parent battling cancer, struggling to pay all the bills and take care of your child’s future (K-12 education) please connect with this great Colorado 501c3 foundation who is there to help.
NCAA Rugby Championship
It was a great weekend of rugby at the highest collegiate level possible. The top 16 teams, Mens and Womens, came to battle for the NCAA Rugby Championship and man was it a battle. Luckily for the weekend we got to work with the great team of the NYC Old Blue club and the athletes were amazing.
Always polite, used to having some type of Certified Athletic Trainer and Massage Therapist combo on the sideline, our team filled in admirably including a little post day 1 massage and acupuncture session at the hotel from our SMART Bodywork® partners.
If you’re team/league travels and you start thinking “I wish we could have X, Y or Z…” let us know and we’ll work to make it happen! Sometimes it takes a little sports medicine during the tournament and a side of bodywork maintenance to come in 1 of the Top 3 spots as both the Men’s and Women’s team, respectfully, did in this tournament!
UB Rustic Knot Photo Shoot
This event was quite the spectacular! It had everything! Including this marketing video clip from Gov. John Hickenlooper (Thank You Sir!)
Amazing outing from both Promise Ranch Therapeutic Riding and Doreen Katz Memorial Cancer Foundation non-profit supporters as well as Clutch Gaming Arena and the awesome breweries that came out to join us for a Nintendo Wi Mario Kart Tournament as well as sports games like plinko, hoop jams, football toss, and Cards Against Humanity, among some others that involved warlocks, wizards and witches.
All in all it was an amazing charity event that raised money to help kids of cancer patients and Colorado families battling some type of physical, emotional disabilities have access to a great set-up of equine therapy for their health and wellness benefit. In some capacity, these kids and families feel more at home on the ranch than they do in public because they can find a way to be ‘comfortable’ through and through.
It took a lot of pulling together but we sure are glad we got to be a part of this campaign!
Thank you to all of the brewery donations, sponsors and donations collected we are able to continue building out the program for the benefit of these two amazing non-profits.
Colorado breweries included:
Blue Moon | Bierstadt | C2 | Crazy Mountain | Denver Beer Co | Epic | Great Divide | Ratio
